Cradle Catholic. Although, I was not cathecized well but have been doing a lot of work recently to change that. 2. If you had to eat one meal every day, for the rest of your life, what would it be? Obviously pizza. I mean you can have breakfast pizza (or cold leftover pizza for breakfast is always good). You can have dessert pizza. Want to be healthy? Make your crust w/ cauliflower. Literally anything goes on pizza. Why would you chose anything else? 3. What is the strangest talent you have? I can wiggle my ears. This is particularly fun with my glasses on because it makes them move. 4. If you wrote a book about yourself, what would be the title? Umm... :How to Try to Succeed in Life While Not Being Focused or Motviated But Loving to do Everything Anyway 5. What would you most like to tell yourself at age 16? Enjoy the time. I know it's super hard at that age. All you want to do is grow up and move out of your parent's house and be on your own...but really you don't. Adulting is not fun. Most of the time, I still don't fully believe I am adulting and more so just going through the motions of it. Trust me. Enjoy the time you don't HAVE to work, you don't have bills, you don't have to worry about housing/rent, you don't have to buy groceries, much less being able to do the things you want and enjoy. Enjoy the time you have with less responsibility while you can. Oh you think you have responsibility? Have humans...then we can talk. 6. What is your favorite prayer and why? The Hail Mary. Besides the loving the simplicity of it and the fact that it's one of the first prayers most Catholics learn, aside from the Our Father, I love that half of it is from scripture. I also love that the other half is asking your mother to pray for you and be there by your side when you die. Who is more comforting than your mother? Why would you not want her to pray for what you want and need? Why would you not want your mother beside you holding your hand and praying for you as you pass on? These are the things you are asking her for every time you pray the Hail Mary. 7. Who is your favorite saint? St. Teresa of Calcutta. Formally known as Mother Teresa. She was my confirmation saint, even though she was not canonized until 2016, she was beatified in 2003, so they let it slide. That and I wouldn't pick anyone else. As a child, I saw her on tv and in books. She was always such an inspiration. Just the love and kindess she showed to everyone around her and everyone she met. Also, have you seen pics or videos of her and JP2 together? They were BFFs. So cute! Look them up! 1. Cradle Catholic or convert?
Cradle Catholic 2. If you had to eat one meal every day, for the rest of your life, what would it be? Pizza, anything can go on a pizza. Cookie pizza? You got it. Pineapple? For sure! 3. What is the strangest talent you have? I don't have to yawn, I choose to. 4. If you wrote a book about yourself, what would be the title? Jack of all trades, master of none. 5. What would you most like to tell yourself at age 16? That everyone feels a little weird inside and to just be yourself, or in this case me. 6. What is your favorite prayer and why? Tantum Ergo, it sounds beautiful it is beautiful and it's typically used during adoration and benediction which are both beautiful in itself. 7. Who is your favorite saint? St. Padre Pio. He's a pretty coold dude, he had the stigmata and is incorruptible which means his body will never decay. You can find pics online. 1. Cradle Catholic or convert?
Convert as of Easter 2016 2. If you had to eat one meal every day, for the rest of your life, what would it be? Bread and dipping oil with red wine 3. What is the strangest talent you have? Don't worry about girlfriends...seriously. 6. What is your favorite prayer and why? The Our Father, because the Church holds it in special esteem. 7. Who is your favorite saint? Enoch the Patriarch (from the book of Genesis) 1. Cradle Catholic or convert?
Cradle Catholic. Although, I only really “awakened” in my faith when I made my own decision to start picking the faith apart, challenging it, and exploring it early on when I was in college. A journey that to this day I am still enjoying. 2. If you had to eat one meal every day, for the rest of your life, what would it be? Carrot Hot Dish. A hot dish is the same thing as a casserole. CHD was a family staple growing up. So naturally, some of my family despises it now, but it has stood the test of time for me. It has tomato soup, rice, carrots, and ground beef all mixed and baked together. So good. Another classic was the peanut butter, mayo, and lettuce sandwich. The lettuce has to be really crisp though. Also let’s be honest: ice cream, but a magic kind that tastes amazing and is also super healthy. 3. What is the strangest talent you have? I can wiggle my ears without wiggling anything else, (for instance, I don’t have to wiggle or raise my eyebrows). Some of us are just blessed with talents like this that help us make our way in the world, thank you Jesus. 4. If you wrote a book about yourself, what would be the title? Doyle Agnew and the Saint’s First Class Relic Doyle Agnew and the Chamber of the Confessional Doyle Agnew and the Prisoner She Visited And the Other Works Of Mercy Doyle Agnew and the Goblet of Precious Blood Doyle Agnew and the Order of the Franciscans Doyle Agnew and the Fully Human and Fully Divine King of Kings Doyle Agnew and the Deathly Sins That She Confessed in Confession 5. What would you most like to tell yourself at age 16? I would probably tell myself to stop thinking in terms of “me” and “I”. It’s really hard at sixteen to realize that life is only worth living at the service of others, and the world wants to tell you it’s all about you. (Spoiler Alert 16 year-old Doyle: you will never find joy serving yourself). I would also probably tell myself all the stupid things that 16 year-olds say in present day. And show me how to do that stupid dance everybody does. I would also hold my hand and take me into the confessional, and say, “get comfortable in here, because you are going to need to be in here a lot.” 6. What is your favorite prayer and why? The Litany of Humility. If you really mean it when you pray it, God -will- answer your prayer. Kind of scary... (The prayer is below in case you don't know it.) 7. Who is your favorite saint? I don’t really have a favorite. It’s too hard to pick. I usually have one that keeps popping up during different times in my life. Like a flavor of the week but instead of a flavor it’s a saint... My Confirmation saint is Mary the Mother of God, because, let’s be honest, who can top her? I kind of wish I had a favorite. Good on you if you have a favorite. I’m applauding you as you read this. Slow clap. |
